Tucker Beathard offered a preview of his EP, Fight Like Hell, during an intimate songwriters showcase at Nashville restaurant Martin’s Bar B Que. Tucker played select cuts from the upcoming EP including “Fight Like Hell,” “Momma and Jesus,” and “Rock On.” Beathard was joined by his father and co-writer Casey Beathard, as well as co-writer Jonathan Singleton and producer Angelo Petraglia.
Sam Hunt’s “Take Your Time” and Lady Antebellum’s “American Honey” are part of the soundtrack to a new film, American Honey. the film, which follows a “magazine crew” that sell publications door to door, not sure where the job will take them next.
In addition to winning Vocal Group and Album of the Year at the International Bluegrass Music Awards Flatt Lonesome won Song of the Year for “You’re the One,” a tune written by Dwight Yoakam that was featured on his 1990 album, If There Was a Way.
Dolly Parton is going down in the history books: She’s become the first artist to earn a Top 20 hit on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in every decade from the 1960s through the 2010s. Per Billboard, Parton notched this record after teaming up with Pentatonix to make an a cappella cover of her 1973 hit “Jolene.” That reworking of “Jolene” landed Parton and Pentatonix the No. 18 spot on the Hot Country Songs chart, and with that honor under her belt, Parton can now say that she has charted Top 20 hits during the ’60s, ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, ’00s and ’10s — six decades in a row. She is also the only artist to earn a Top 40 hit on the Hot Country Songs chart in each decade from the ’60s through the ’10s.
