“STEREO 974 is thrilled to have been awarded a FOOTSCRAY POLICE APPRECIATION AWARD, for our support of the Footscray Police with “Operation Safe Plate”.

“Operation Safe Plate”, is where anti-theft screws are fitted to car number plates. These public fitting days are conducted from Shopping Centre Car Parks and are supported by Victoria Police, SES, Rotary and Maribyrnong City Council. STEREO 974 has conducted a Public Awareness Campaign across all Programming promoting these days.

The Award Presentation took place this morning at the Footscray Police Station, representing STEREO 974, was ROD BOYD (General Manager).The award was presented on behalf of Footscray Police by Inspector IAN GEDDES, Leading Senior Constable CRAIG SPICER (Multicultural Officer), and Sergeant IAN BROWN (Neighbourhood Watch).

STEREO 974, are now broadcasting every week 60 Hours of Ethnic Programming, including 4 Hours of Ethnic Youth Programming, and 6 Hours of Emerging Ethnic Communities Programs. The Ethnic Community are great supporters of STEREO 974, and numerous Ethnic Community Associations and Groups, are actively involved in this programming.

STEREO 974, is every mindful that we broadcast to an area where 54% of Households speak a language other than English at home, hence our involvement with Community Groups, Ethnic Youth, and Emerging Communities.
