"Sweetwater Rain" are head over heels in love . "Caught up in a whirlwind, coming in fast again and its love that I'm in, never felt so high", goes their brand new single "Tailspin."  Listen up soon for this new trio who are opening for a lot of the big Country acts in concert.

Milestone Award went to Carrie Underwood.

When country music fans think of Brantley Gilbert, they may think of his tattoos, country rock mix and bad boy persona. However, Gilbert admits that there are several personal songs on his new record 'Just as I Am' that show his softer side. Even though Gilbert has a bad boy image in country music, he's definitely letting his heart hang loose in 'Just As I Am.'

Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are rumoured to be getting into the hospitality business by opening a new bed and breakfast in their hometown later this year.

Randy Houser and his wife, Jessa Lee, had filed for divorce after a little over two years of marriage. It seems Randy is needing a vacation but there's one hitch ... Jessa also wants to go. Apparently the couple had the vacation planned before the divorce and now neither one wants to give up the chance to get away! Country singer Randy Houser so desperately needs a break from his wife ... he's asking a judge for a restraining order ... to block her from going on VACATION with him.

Well wishes going out to Craig Morgan who revealed that he is recovering from shoulder surgery.

Two years since Ronnie Dunn has released new music but he is back with a new collection called, Peace Love and Country Music.
Ronnie has cut back on touring this year and will spend more time at home.

John Williamson will release his life story in July. Called "Hey True Blue".
His life story is also about Australia, his love of the land, the importance of family and what it really means to be 'TRUE Blue".

BOBíS WEEKLY BLOG 30TH APRIL 2014 Posted: Wed 30th Apr 2014 - 11:04

Tim McGraw's "Meanwhile Back at Mama's" (#41), featuring Faith Hill, & Thompson Square's "Testing the Water" are two of the hottest songs at the moment now playing on Stereo 974.
Tim McGraw's newest comes from his upcoming cd album on his new label & is the follow up to "looking for that girl".

Miranda Lambert's upcoming album Platinum is full of songs about where she is right now & right now, she's 30.
So on "Bathroom Sink," a song Lambert wrote by herself, she sings about dealing with body issues. The lyrics of "Priscilla" are about having a famous husband & on "Little Red Wagon," she sings with a sense of humor that was inspired by Blake Shelton.

Brett Eldredge started out singing Frank Sinatra songs as a kid in his hometown, but he quickly went country after hearing Ronnie Dunn's voice on Brooks & Dunn's Greatest Hits album. Brett has now scored his second country hit with "Beat of the Music." It's included on his debut album, Bring You Back.

Brantley Gilbert is back with a bang thanks to his latest hit, "Bottoms Up." Once he finished writing the song with his co-writers, Brantley knew "Bottoms Up" should be the lead single from his upcoming album, Just as I Am.

Dustin Lynch's debut #1 hit, "Cowboys & Angels," gave fans a rather soft  first impression. His latest single, "Where It's At," delivers a better idea of what to expect from his concerts .Dustin rocks hard & dances around onstage. He loves to have fun & keeps the show upbeat." Dustin spent 312 days on the road last year & plans to spend just as much time touring this year!

If Adam Eckersley hadn't made the decision to pick up a guitar at age 12 he'd probably be a professional fisherman or a market gardener by now. Adam & his band recorded their 1st album of 11 songs in late 2012 at the Surry Hills Songrimes studio. The single, Give Her The World, was written by Adam about his wife, Brooke McClymont, who was pregnant at the time with their daughter, Tiggy.

Congrats to  south-west Sydney based songstress Christie Lamb on hitting Top Five status with "All She Wrote" which lyrically deals with a young woman plucking up the courage to leave an abusive relationship. "Manhunt" is Christie's new one getting hefty airplay on Stereo 974.

Rosanne Cash has been to Australia three times,"& toured here with Lucinda Williams & Mary Chapin Carpenter - dubbed The Highwaywomen. Rosanne hopes to be back soon & is touring at the moment throughout the USA to promote The River & The Thread - her highest selling album to date. We are playing the single "A feather's not a Bird".

The Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum in Nashville will be paying tribute to Kenny Rogers in an upcoming exhibit.

BOBíS WEEKLY BLOG 8TH APRIL 2014 Posted: Tue 8th Apr 2014 - 11:04

There has to be a way to recycle the Top stars of the past few years into contemporary radio. Is Country now the new pop, Just party music, Alien to its heritage, or is this just a phase?
Trace Adkins, Alan Jackson, Ronnie Milsap, Vince Gill, Reba, Martina Mc Bride & Tracey Lawrence . all finding it hard to get a song in today's Country Market! The "sound" of Country music has changed, some say for the worse, some say the production has become "slicker'. The debate between Traditionalists & New Country will continue.
Recent surveys place "Country Music" as America's favorite listening format,  more & more people are listening. My take on this is we now listen to our music in different forms such as, mp3, memory stick or downloaded in various forms on your Iphone! The days of 45's cartridge players, cassette & cd's are way behind us .
You don't drive a 60's motor car, you drive the latest model, you don't watch black & white TV, you watch colour, you don't watch on 15 inch screens it's  50 inch or bigger, you don't wear fashion from last Century, you wear up to date fashion . Country music has changed & we have to embrace the New!

Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts has made guest appearances recently on "Nashville" & he says acting is definitely something he's open to pursuing more. Meanwhile Jay is focused on music as Rascal Flatts prepares to release & promote their new album, Rewind.

At just 17, Danielle Bradbery is the youngest contender in a talented pack of new females vying to break through on Country radio & she's already had a measure of success, what with a win on season four of "The Voice," a self-titled, debut album with its first single, "Heart Of Dixie" . Listen up for her new one "Young in America".

"You look up & it's three in the mornin'/You're still sippin' whatever they're pourin'/You got your shades on/You got your drink up/Like you're VIP at the nightclub." Not only does this describe your last night out, but it's also part of the chorus to Love & Theft's new single, "Night That You'll Never Forget." Now playing on your favorite station!

Arthur "Guitar Boogie" Smith died Thursday (April 3) at his home, age 93. Smith appeared on the Billboard Country charts in 1948 with "Guitar Boogie", which reached #8. In 1955, Smith composed a banjo instrumental he titled "Feudin' Banjos." Smith took on Warner Bros. after the song appeared (uncredited) as the song "Dueling Banjos" in 1972's Deliverance. The song went to #5 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart. Smith's lawsuit won a substantial settlement, which gave him songwriting credit & back royalties. Guitar Boogie was released on MGM Records & was the inspiration for Rock around the clock. Check it out on You Tube. He hosted the syndicated program The Arthur Smith Show, which became one of the first Country music television shows to be syndicated nationally.

"Out among the stars" a collection of Johnny Cash Songs has hit #1 on the Billboard Country album chart. His son, John Carter Cash discovered the songs after the Man in Black died in 2003. It's Johnny Cash's tenth #1 Country Album.

Natalie Howard's album Under (Love's) Umbrella has been nominated for Country Album of the Year in the Independent Music Awards in America. Natalie said she was proud & elated to hear she had been selected in the final five of submissions received from around the world. The four other nominees are all from the USA.
