Merle Haggard and other country singers are featured on a new recording project, The Buddy Holly Country Tribute", Remember Me! Merle contributes "Remember Me" and the classic "That'll be the Day".

Garth Brooks kicks off his comeback World Tour in Chicago. It'll feature new music from the album he is working on, as well as plenty of hits you know. His wife Trisha Yearwood will appear alongside Garth on each show.

Tim McGraw has released his latest single, 'Shotgun Rider'. The song comes off of McGraw's upcoming album, 'Sundown Heaven Town,' which is set for release on Sept. 16. This is one of those songs that really paints a picture and sets a mood!

The book is a response from Johnny to his daughter, who posed him a series of questions in 1995. "These questions are not the typical questions that he was asked in the countless number of interviews he did in his career,"

New album "Angels among Us" for Alabama, Randy Owen, Teddy Gentry, and Jeff Cook. It features Hymns and Gospel Favourites in all 15 songs.

Lee Brice may be a big country star, but the singer says that he loves taking time off the road to Brice and his wife Sara have been together on and off for 13 years. The couple got married last year, and the 'I Don't Dance' singer says that it's changed his life for the better. Brice's third studio album, 'I Don't Dance,' is set for release September. He debuted the first single from the album, the title track, earlier this year.

Ricky Skaggs and his wife, Sharon White, are only weeks away from the release of their highly anticipated first studio album. 'Hearts Like Ours'

Golden Guitar winners, husband and wife duo "O"Shea' are releasing a brand new album in January 2015.

The Famine and the Feast is the name of the album, hear a track from the upcoming  "Bad Day Good" now playing on Stereo 974. The Nashville based pair are in Australia for a string of tour dates including the Gympie Muster.

The Doobie Brothers are teaming up with some big artists to get a little country for a new release. 'Southbound,' a country Doobie Brothers covers album, is set to be released on Nov. 4, and comes packed with a big list of country stars on board. Blake Shelton, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley and Zac Brown Band are just a few people on the roster.

Kenny Chesney's new song "Flora-Bama,"is a musical tribute to a well-known bar on the Alabama/Florida state line. "It's a very specific song about a very specific place," Chesney says of the song, which was co-written with David Lee Murphy, "but it's also a song for anyone who has somewhere they go to let their mind unwind.                 Co-produced by Chesney and Buddy Cannon, the 11-track release The Big Revival will be out end of September.

Nashville sibling duo Brothers Osborne will release their self-titled EP on Sept. 9. The band's first full length album is expected in early 2015. The brothers co-wrote each of the five tracks on the EP. Listen up for "Rum" charting on your Station.

Brad Paisley a proud member of the Grand Ole Opry since 2001, Paisley earned the first of his 22 No.1 singles in 1999, writing or co-writing 19 of them. His latest single, "River Bank," is from his upcoming album, Moonshine in the Trunk. The title track is getting an airing right now on Stereo 974.

Rosanne Cash will be the recipient of Smithsonian Magazine's 2014 Performing Arts Award during the third annual American Ingenuity awards. The event will honor 10 of the most inspired pioneers in America in visual arts, performing arts, natural sciences, physical sciences, technology, education, youth achievement, and more.

Reba McEntire, Lionel Richie, David Foster, and Larry King will join Andrea Bocelli for the international debut of Celebrity Fight Night, in Tuscany, Italy on Sept. 3-7. Reba will receive a special honor during the evening to commemorate her ongoing of support for charities.

Producer David Huff is bringing one of his all-time favorite bands from the past into the present with a new project. "The Doobie Brothers are such an important band in the history of music. The album is called "Southbound" and will be released in November. Country artists involved in the project doing their fave Doobie songs include: "Black Water" with Zac Brown Band, "China Grove" with Chris Young,
"Listen to the Music" with Blake Shelton with Hunter Hayes on guitar, "Long Train Runnin'" with Toby Keith, "Rockin' Down the Highway" with Brad Paisley,
"Takin' It to the Streets" with Love and Theft and "What a Fool Believes" with Sara Evans.

Angaleena Presley, who may or may not still be a part of the Pistol Annies, has just relesed Ain't No Man, a song from her upcoming solo album debut, American Middle Class. "It's like my autobiography, each of the songs is a chapter of my life. I've literally lived every minute of this record," Angaleena said in a release about the album.

Willie Nelson's latest album, 'Band of Brothers,' has been hailed as a return to form after a period of nearly two decades of focusing on songs from outside writers. He wrote nine of the project's new songs, and the album debuted at No.1, giving Nelson his first chart-topping album since the '80s.

The Mavericks have completed the follow-up to their 2013 reunion album, 'In Time.' 'In Time' was the band's first studio release in 10 years, and lead singer Raul Malo says that they have completed their next release. They have just finished recording a new album that will be out next year. The untitled project will feature all-new material from the Mavericks.
The band, which includes Malo along with bassist Robert Reynolds, guitarist Eddie Perez, drummer Paul Deakin and keyboard player Jerry Dale McFadden, celebrate 25 years of touring. See them live in Australia soon.

Florida Georgia Line have announced the name of their new album!  'Anything Goes,' which will be Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard's follow-up to their multi-platinum debut album, 'Here's to the Good Times,' is set for release on Oct. 14. The duo has a lot to live up to: 'Here's to the Good Times' included five No.1 singles. But the new album's first single, 'Dirt,' has already made waves, breaking Taylor Swift's record for the most-added song in a week.

Dustin Lynch kicked off the weekend with a splash last night when he surpassed the ONE MILLION Facebook "likes" milestone. The platinum selling country star, whose new album WHERE IT'S AT is in stores Sept. 9th, celebrated the digital media landmark by cannonballing into the pool of a downtown Nashville rooftop.

Mark Wills is gearing up for the release of brand new music, getting new material for his own company. It's been quite a while since Mark had material played on Radio.

Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood are back as hosts for the seventh time. We're talking about 48th annual Country Music Awards that will be broadcast from Nashville on November 5.

Now a Grandfather, Vince Gill! Vince's daughter Jenny welcomes a baby boy.

Sammy Kershaw has just released a new cd "Do you know me?" a tribute to George Jones.

The cd debuted at number 37 on the Billboard Top Country Chart, making it his first top 40 album in over a decade.

Miranda Lambert is getting ready to hit the big screen for a comedy film, "Something in the water". In the film, Miranda would play one of five women from different generations who challenge their male counterparts in a bass fishing tournament.

Ray Stevens is back with a new album, "Gospel Collection" Volume One.
Stevens produced the release, which covers a variety of popular hymns and gospel classics.
His book, Ray Stevens Nashville was released this year sharing stories of his many years in Music City.

Blake Shelton has revealed cover art, release date and title for his eleventh studio album. Expected to hit shelves Sept. 30, Shelton's album will be titled Bringing Back the Sunshine. Produced by Shelton's longtime collaborator and award winning producer Scott Hendricks, the CMA's four time reigning Male Vocalist of the Year will release the lead single from the album in the coming weeks. Recently breaking his own record for most consecutive No. 1's at Country radio (12 in a row, 17 overall), Shelton is currently on his Ten Times Crazier Tour 2014.

Luke Bryan will again present his sixth annual Farm Tour this Octoberand will donate a portion of the proceeds to local college scholarships.
Bryan broke a record last year by performing for over 115,000 fans in eight towns during the Farm Tour.

Lorrie Morgan has added even more dates to her current concert tour, crossing the country with Pam Tillis on their Grits and Glamour Tour, will continue performing with Tillis, as well as headline her own shows through the end of the year. Morgan, who just celebrated her 30th year as a member of the Grand Ole Opry, released 'Dos Divas' with Tillis in 2013.

Sunny Sweeney set out to document the highs and the lows of her life in recent years with the new collection of songs. The new album is called "Provoked" The album's first single, 'My Bed,' is a duet with Will Hoge that Sweeney wrote with Angeleena  Presley and Ashley Monroe. The song is one of several on the album that draw from painful personal experience.

Sugarland fans may have been surprised to find out that Kristian Bush can sing, but the artist says that's been one of his favorite things about beginning his solo career'. Bush played guitar alongside Jennifer Nettles vocals for nearly 10 years while in Sugarland. Both artists have begun to pursue solo ventures, with Nettles releasing 'That Girl' in January and Bush planning the release of his own solo album.

Toby Keith has topped the richest country stars list for the second year in a row. Forbes magazine has named the 'Red Solo Cup' singer as the highest paid star in country, after reportedly pulling in US$65 million last year. But Keith is only out in front by a whisker, with Taylor Swift coming in a close second with US$64 million an increase of US$9 million on her previous year's earnings.

US stars Kenny Chesney, Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan round out the top five.

Tim McGraw"s new album, Sundown Heaven Town will feature "Meanwhile back at Mama's "and "CityLights" that you can hear now on your station.

Foxtel announced it has signed Morgan Evans, one of the hottest young performers in Australian Country, as a presenter, host and ambassador for the Country Music Channel.
Evans will continue to host a series of specials on the channel including CMC Rocks, as well as various events across the yearly country music calendar.

Shania Twain has been getting great reviews for her Las Vegas Show "Shania still the One, since it premiered at Caesars Palace in 2012. Now she's received the official honour for the exciting one woman show as Las Vegas Weekly named Shania "Best Resident Performer 2014".

A Country Music Hall of Fame's exhibit honoring Alan Jackson will open on Aug. 29. 'Alan Jackson: 25 Years of Keepin' It Country' will run at the Hall of Fame's museum in Nashville through March 2015. Jackson will also serve as the museum's next artist in residence, making him the first person to serve as an artist in residence while being the subject of an exhibit.

Craig Morgan's 8th annual charity event in Tennessee was a success! The 'That's What I Love About Sunday' singer raised more than $60,000 for kids with a combination of motocross and music.

Stoney LaRue's debut single and video "First One To Know" from his forthcoming release, Aviator will be out soon. Stoney has been a regular on the Texas Charts for many years and is branching out with his new release nationally.

Miranda Lambert's Platinum continues its reign as country music's bestselling album.

There isn't a lot of action on the current charts, just two new albums and two first time singles.

Debuting is Blackberry Smoke's Leave a Scar, Live: North Carolina and Blackhawk's Brothers of the Southland.

Florida Georgia Line boasts the week's highest-debuting single, "Dirt."

Brett Eldredge's "Mean to Me," makes its entrance and will be another huge hit for Brett.

Adam Harvey's remake of the Sammy Kershaw song "She don't think she's beautiful" and "skinny white latte" for Harmony James are making an impact.

Lady Antebellum will step out with a new album titled 747 on Sept. 30. The band co produced the album with Nathan Chapman. The lead single is "Bartender," which the band co-wrote with Rodney Clawson. The trio co-wrote six of the album's 11 songs. It will be more up tempo and different from previous albums.

An upcoming tribute album to Johnny Cash bitter Tears, ballads of the American Indian, features a host of top names including Kris Kristofferson and Emmy Lou Harris.

International superstar and current Vegas headliner, Shania Twain, was named Las Vegas Weekly's "Best Resident Performer" for their "Best of Vegas 2014" list. Twain returned to Las Vegas last week to begin the July run of her award winning show, SHANIA: Still the One at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

Gary Allan, has announced a run of headline shows in Australia.
Gary will hit the road for his first tour in six years in September and October, supported by The Mavericks, and four piece "redneck rock band" Blackjack Billy.

The Voice starring Blake Shelton has been nominated for 10 Emmys. Since the show started it has been given 19 nominations and Emmys. The Emmys will be aired 25th August.

Garth Brooks has announced a new album to be released this year with a single coming out next month. He has announced he is ready to begin recording again.

Dolly Parton's world tour has wrapped up with a show in Sweden, but she isn't ready to relax just yet. The 68-year-old says she may soon trade her spot behind a microphone for a place in front of the camera instead. Dolly is working on some new music, doing her life story as a musical, also doing her life story as a movie, which also has a lot of music in it.

Now that Florida Georgia Line have released their newest single 'Dirt,' they've also announced the Dirt Campaign to run alongside it,  and with it, the duo are trying to raise $100,000 for Habitat for Humanity. 'Dirt' is the first single from Florida Georgia Line's upcoming album.

It may be July, but LeAnn Rimes already has the holiday season on her mind. The singer will embark on a Christmas tour in conjunction with a festive album in 2014.

The Band Perry received some hometown love last week from the Greene County Partnership. The trio was honoured with the 2014 Northeast Tennessee Tourism Association Pinnacle Award in recognition of their Pioneer album launch event in Greeneville in March 2013.

Brantley Gilbert's latest album, Just as I Am, has been certified gold for sales of 500,000 copies.

Newcomer Joel Crouse will release his debut album, Even the River Runs, on August 19. It features his single, "If You Want Some."

Old Crow Medicine Show's signature hit "Wagon Wheel" recorded by Darius Rucker began its life as a Bob Dylan outtake that they took upon themselves to complete. On the group's new album, Remedy, it's happening once again. The song "Sweet Amarillo" was sent to the band by Bob Dylan , who requested they complete a chorus that he had partially written. The band jumped at the opportunity and worked with Bob to come up with the finished version of "Sweet Amarillo." This appears on their new album - Remedy now on the American Billboard Country Chart.

Brett Eldredge is rarely in the same town for more than a day or two at a time, thanks to his tour schedule, but he heads back to his hometown of Paris, Illinois every few months to get his feet back on the ground. The city has just 9,000 residents, so it retains that small town feel.  Brett hits the road with Keith Urban's Raise 'Em Up tour later this month.

Blake Shelton has new music out soon. Finishing up his newest album in the next couple weeks, we don't think Blake is going to stop making music. He's said in the past he likes to make each album as if it's his last one ever. Blake certainly hit a six! With, Based on a True Story. The project won CMA Album of the Year and produced five Number 1 hits.

Like many modern country stars, Lee Brice probably wouldn't be making music if he hadn't gone to see a Garth Brooks concert as a teenager. Now that he's playing arenas and stadiums on the road with Luke Bryan, Lee still tries to give his fans that feeling he got from Garth. Lee's new album, I Don't Dance, has several songs designed to connect with fans in big arenas!

Jerrod Niemann's parents recently came to Nashville to help him celebrate his latest #1 hit, "Drink to That All Night." Jerrod is now back with his brand new single, "Buzz Back Girl."

Rosanne Cash may be the daughter of a famous country music icon, but like her late father, Cash is an artist first, and 'country artist' is just one of the many labels applied to what she does, first and foremost a songwriter, and her latest album, "The River & the Thread," touches upon country, folk, blues and even gospel styles.

Jamie O'Neal  has released "Eternal", her first album in nearly five years Eternal features O'Neal's take on 10 classic country hits plus an original bonus track co written by Jamie.

Taylor Swift has broken yet another record. The singer's global Red Tour, which wrapped up last month in Asia, grossed more than $150 million, beating the record by a country artist previously held by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill's Soul2Soul tour, which brought in $141 million in 2006 and 2007.

The International Entertainment Buyers have announced their 2014 Hall of Fame inductees and honourees. Among those set to be honoured are the Doobie Brothers. Sony Music is set to release a Doobie Brothers tribute album later this year this will feature the band playing their hits with some of country music's biggest names, including Brad Paisley, Toby Keith and the Zac Brown Band.

It's been 25 years since Alan Jackson signed his first recording contract. To mark the occasion he is kicking off a 25 City Anniversary Tour in 2015. He'll also release new music in the coming months, and have an exhibit at Nashville's Country Music Hall of Fame starting end of August.

Trace Adkins has just been inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame. Trace was presented with an award and an official statement signed by the state's governor.

For the first time in Broadway history, the New York Musical Theatre Festival is bringing Country music's biggest hits to the stage in a new production - "Somewhere with You" a new generation coming of age love story centred around Southerners growing up in the early 2000s.

Angeleena Presley from the group Pistol Annies is pursuing a solo career .She will release her solo album "American Middle Class" later this year.

Willie Nelson knows how to celebrate. The country singer celebrated his new album topping the charts with ice cream and a little thank you message to fans. The 81 year old's 'Band of Brothers' debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country chart, a feat the singer hasn't accomplished in a very long time. In fact, it was his highest debut and chart position since 1982. That year, it was 'Always on My Mind' that helped Nelson soar the charts. 'Band of Brothers' is also the legend's first No. 1 album since 1986 ('The Promiseland'). After all these years, Nelson is still able to snag a No. 1 record with the sound that is his trademark.

Sunny Sweeney's upcoming release , Provoked, hits August 5, and features the lead single "Bad Girl Phase." "The album is a journey from nearly hitting bottom and losing everything personally to regaining my footing and being able to find not only my true self again, but real happiness," she said in a statement.

George Strait's $18 million night! How amazing was that! Beats the one night record held by U2 at the Rose Bowl . That's nothing short of amazing!

Today's country format is where you hear the kind of music Sheryl Crow always made. It just happens, that now Sheryl's in a different category.  Twenty years ago her Grammy award hit "All I ever want to Do" contained pedal steel guitar. Sheryl's recorded the bulk of her new album at her home in Nashville.  "Feels like home" has already produced three hits including her current, "shotgun".

Motorbike enthusiast Dierks Bentley has written a song "Ride on" for the History Channel, series "Biker Battleground Phoenix".

Known for his hits, Misty, The Streaker and more . Ray Stevens is set to release his book "Ray Stevens Nashville", detailing his life and career soon.

A 20-year anniversary!  "Lonestar", which recently reunited with original lead singer Richie McDonald, is currently embarking on a mega-tour across North America, bringing the sound country fans have loved for two decades live. Over 10 million albums later, they're gearing up for the release of their new single "Just the Rain."

Moonshine in a Trunk is the name of the new Brad Paisley album that took Brad 3 months to put together. Heavy airplay for "Riverbank" the first cut from the album now playing on Stereo 974!

Willie Nelson has released "Band of Brothers," the lead single and title track from his latest album. It features Nelson and his crew. "When all the songs have been written, When all of the music has played, When the curtain comes down we'll still be around, to make sure the musicians are paid," sings Nelson on the cut.

Kacey Musgraves says that she got the title to her latest single from mum,  who frequently suggests titles to her. Mother suggested, 'Keep It to Yourself' would be a good song title .. Always sending me long texts suggesting song names, the song tackles the problem of ex-lovers' communication.

Lady Antebellum have promised that their forthcoming release will be a "fun, up-tempo" record .Their recent album "Golden" didn't produce the number of "hits' they expected. The album will feature more up tempo "fun" songs and will be along the lines of "Downtown" and "Hey Bartender".
Congratulations to Kelly Clarkson who welcomed her first daughter on Thursday, June 12.

Brad Paisley is performing two songs for an upcoming Disney feature "Planes, Fire and Rescue" The movie centres on Dusty, an air race plane whose damaged engine redirects him to the world of aerial firefighting.

Taking a year off touring hasn't stopped Kenny Chesney from recording, his next song "American Kids" will be out at the end of this month a "feel good song".

Toby Keith  paid back his home state, Oklahoma  with a huge donation for the Oklahoma Kids Korral. The money was raised through his 11th annual Toby Keith & Friends Golf Classic event.
