BOBíS BLOG 18TH AUGUST 2015 Posted: Tue 18th Aug 2015 - 15:08

There are always big parties when a country star scores a No.1 single, but Jason Aldean and his team blew the doors off of Nashville's City Winery when they celebrated three No.1's, "Burnin' It Down," "Just Gettin' Started," and "Tonight Looks Good on You." Jason and his record label team along with the songwriters on all three hits, their publishing companies and a score of other industry VIPs floated from room to room as each song was given its own recognition and celebration.

It would have been enough just to make a movie about Dolly Parton's childhood, but we have just learned that Jennifer Nettles will star as Dolly's mother, Avie Lee Parton, in the film Dolly Parton's Coat of Many Colors. Jennifer recently starred as Roxie Hart in the musical Chicago, her Broadway debut. The movie is not about Dolly's whole life, but instead covers incidents that occurred in the Parton family around the time the country star was just 9 years old.

If you don't like Kip Moore, he's perfectly fine with that. In fact, that's what one of his new tracks, "That's Alright With Me" is about. Moore makes no apologies for who he is, and the rockin' song is proof.  "That's Alright With Me" is a country-rock anthem that tells everyone that Moore is Moore: What you see is what you get, and he's not going to change for anyone. It's a theme the artist also explores in Wild Ones' lead single, "I'm to Blame."

If you're feeling blue today, perhaps the Band Perry's new single, "Live Forever," can help you start feeling a little yellow? The trio Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry, known for their high-energy, raucous and entertaining sets, debuted the brand-new tune on Good Morning America .Fans were encouraged to wear yellow!

Shane Nicholson's new album Hell Breaks Loose is out and one of the tracks has made it to the chart, 2nd hand man which is the standout track. Stereo 974 playing tracks from the album, his best in a long while. Many of these songs are about self-discovery and new horizons.'' According to Shane.

Don Henley has put down a new album, we are looking forward to Cass Country! Don shares studio time with Martina McBride, Mick Jagger, Merle Haggard, Miranda Lambert, Lucinda Williams, Trisha Yearwood and - of course - Dolly, who duets with Don on 'When I Stop Dreaming' the third single from Henley's first full-blown country record.

Reba McEntire has announced the release of new single 'Until They Don't Love You' just days after news of her split with husband of 26 years, Narvel Blackstock. The title is sure to get reactions, as will lines like "Don't know what you want 'til you need it", "Don't know that it's love until it's leaving", and the kicker in the chorus: "Sometimes you don't love somebody until they don't love you." "The song is the second single lifted from Love Somebody, following "Going out like that"

Luke Bryan's fifth studio album, Kill the Lights, is one of the most-anticipated projects of 2015. Bryan got his start in country music as a songwriter, and though his recent albums have focused more on songs from outside writers, he took a stronger hand in the songwriting for Kill the Lights.

Trisha Yearwood has sold more than 12 million albums throughout the course of her career, and is a platinum-selling and multiple Grammy, CMA and ACM Award-winning recording artist. Her chart-topping hits include "She's In Love With The Boy," "XXX's and OOO's (An American Girl)," and "How Do I Live." Trisha Yearwood  will take off the Voice of Music Award at the 53rd annual Country Music Awards, to be held on Monday, November 2nd, 2015 at the Omni Nashville Hotel.

Have a great week!

Toby Keith's latest album, 35 mph Town, is set for release October with his Show Dog  Records Nashville. Seven year old actress Alyvia Lind will be playing the role of young Dolly Parton in the upcoming movie 'Coat of Many Colours.' The TV movie will be "a family oriented faith based story about the incidents in her and her family's life around the time she was 9 years old" rather than a tale about Dolly's early career.

Charles Esten, who plays troubled muso Deacon Claybourne in the TV series Nashville has released a song!  This is his first solo release 'Hot One'.

John Anderson, will perform an intimate acoustic show in Nashville on July 29th as he appears as the first guest on the inaugural Country On The Cumberland concert series, which will take place aboard the General Jackson Showboat, is a rare opportunity for fans to experience Anderson's intimate show and marks the Country music legend's first Nashville based acoustic concert performance in over 30 years. It's been five years since Easton Corbin climbed the singles chart for the first time with "A Little More Country Than That."  Now it's album number three. Ronnie Dunn, who co-wrote the churning "Wild Women and Whiskey," keeps it moving along. "Baby be my Love Song" is charting its way to No.1 and is the first cut from the album "About to get Real"

It's been 11 months since Virginia Country Artist Caanan Smith released "Love You Like That." It's been a steady climb, but the single has just made Top 10. Yoakam released his 15th studio album, Second Hand Heart, in April, he wrote 8 of the records 10 tracks. The album notched a No.2 debut on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart, making it Yoakam's highest-charting record in 26 years. His last top-charting record was Buenas Noches From a Lonely Room, which hit No.1 in 1988.

BOBíS BLOG 18TH JUNE 2015 Posted: Thu 18th Jun 2015 - 15:06

For the 50th anniversary of The Rolling Stones' classic "I Can't Get No (Satisfaction)," the rock band has announced that Rascal Flatts will open their July 4 show at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The trio of Gary, Jay and Joe Don Rooney (whose son is actually named Jagger) is the second country artist to be included in the Stones' Zip Code Tour this summer. Brad Paisley has already signed on.

Keifer and Shawna Thompson, better known as Thompson Square, lost many of their possessions when their Los Angeles home was destroyed by a water leak that flooded their house while they were on the road. Promoting their new song "Trans AM" which is just out.

With four consecutive No. 1 singles under his belt, Billy Currington is at the top of his professional game. However, when it comes to his personal life, Billy admits he just simply doesn't have time.  Listen to "Drinkin" Town" his new hit on Stereo 974.

It's been almost four years since Lauren Alaina released new music, but that's about to change. The American Idol Season 10 runner up says that her new album is almost ready.

The Oak Ridge Boys' latest album, Rock of Ages: Hymns and Gospel Favourites, features mostly traditional hymns .But one song on the album is a brand-new track: "Sweet Jesus" was written by Merle Haggard, and the country legend wrote it with the quartet in mind.

Craig Campbell just released his latest single, "Tomorrow Tonight," and is readying a new record, his first with his new record label. The new project comes on the heels of Campbell's 2013 album, Never Regret, which was his second album for his former label, , and included the record breaking song "Outta My Head," which stayed on the charts for one full year. But when the company announced that they were closing last year, Campbell suddenly found himself without a label home.

The release of Luke Bryan new album, Kill the Lights, is fast approaching, but the singer is still in the process of selecting the final tracks "kick the dust up" is the new track being aired on Stereo 974.

Carrie Underwood is giving fans a little insight into what they can expect from her upcoming album. The new Mum has "more than a good start" on her next release, and she says that it's likely that the project will include a song inspired by her son, Isaiah. Underwood gave birth to her son Isaiah in February, and she's been staying relatively out of the limelight since then, making her first red carpet appearance at Wednesday's (June 10) CMT Music Awards, where she took home three trophies.

Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard's album Django and Jimmie has hit No.1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart, just days after its June 2 release. Nelson and Haggard last had a No.1 album together in January 1983 with the release of Pancho & Lefty.

Drew McAlister, Travis Collins, Matt Cornell and Mike Carr are teaming up with 12-time Golden Guitar winner Adam Brand to form Adam Brand and the Outlaws.

BOBíS BLOG 28TH MAY 2015 Posted: Thu 28th May 2015 - 15:05

"Whatever She's Got" hitmaker David Nail is currently working on his fourth studio album, but the Missouri native admits he kind of started by accident. Nail hopes to call the album Fighter, which is also the name of a powerful song partially inspired by the ultimate chick flick, The Notebook.

Montgomery Gentry have made an album that relies on what they do best, and the song "We Were Here" doesn't step out of line. "We Were Here" is about not letting the next big thing run over your memories, or who you are. Every song on the album is about the things they've always stood for. "All of their music throughout their career is about family, faith, military, support of small towns and support of blue collar workers," he says.

Luke Bryan says it can be hard to choose which songs to record. But with his new single "Kick the Dust Up", the first new track off his upcoming Kill the Lights album, he had some help. Luke's boys young sons Bo and Tate want to hear that one song over and over and they're going, 'Let's tear it up, up," Luke knows it's right. Starting from a hundred songs or so there's only enough room for a few on each new album, and they all need to have really broad appeal. Kill the Lights comes out in August and Bryan admits after Bo and Tate gave their approval to "Kick the Dust Up," he realized it was the perfect lead single.

So Tyler Farr walks into a bar, and he leaves with his third No.1 single. Farr's "A Guy Walks Into a Bar" reached the top spot on the country charts this week, marking his third No. 1 following "Redneck Crazy" and "Whiskey in My Water."  "A Guy Walks Into a Bar" scores Farr his first top single off of his album, Suffer in Peace.

Chris Young's new single, "I'm Comin' Over," hints at the new sounds to come from the singer on his upcoming album. His new record is a bit different, from the way he recorded his vocals and its various production elements to the content of the record, which includes a duet and a collaboration, each with another well-known country artist. "There's a male/female duet on here, which is something he's never done before, with Cassadee Pope, Vince Gill came in and sang with Young on another track from the CD. Young is also co-producing the album, the first time he's done so on one of his records, though he has produced projects for other artists and he's loved the process.

Jake Owen has released his new single, "Real Life," and while it doesn't directly mention hanging out by the water or fun times at the beach, it's definitely a summertime tune. Real Life" is this first single off of Owen's upcoming new album, which will be out by the end of this year. Owen will spend some time this summer on the road with Kenny Chesney, as an opening act on Chesney's 2015 The Big Revival Tour.

Logan Mize has released his debut EP! Pawn Shop Guitar, features five tracks, all co-written by the singer. The lead single, "Can't Get Away From a Good Time," is all about making life a constant party, even if that means you can't escape it when you want to.

Jana Kramer has tied the knot with her fiancé Michael Caussin! Less than six months after getting engaged on Kramer's 31st birthday, the country singer and free agent football player said "I do"!

The Bellamy Brothers are celebrating 40 years in the music business with a two-disc release of new and previously recorded tracks. Bellamy Brothers: "40 Years "features one disc with 20 re-recorded hits and another containing 20 all-new tracks.

O'Shea will be embarking on an Australian tour, including a headlining appearance at this year's Gympie Music Muster. O'SHEA are back in the country for a selection of live dates including Gympie Music Muster.  Their new single "Parade" is getting lots of spins on your favourite station Stereo 974.

"The New Normal", recorded in Nashville by 8 Ball Aitken has a track that Stereo 974 is featuring, a sweet love song written by 8 Ball ,"Girl in a Million" that follows up on his previous hit "I'm Going to Jail" 8Ball regularly commutes between Nashville and Tamworth.

"So Gone" is the new track from "Silver Lining" that contains four songs Tori Dark has co-written on the 11 track album.  It tells the story of being caught out cheating when another woman's lipstick is found on his collar (shades of Connie Francis).

Listen out for The Sherrahs with their new song "Raindrops on the Window" from their third album "Built on Stone". It's about loved ones who work away from home like Truckies or the Armed Forces. Their loved ones who wait at home hope they'll come home safely. Now playing on Stereo 974.

Have a great week!
