The winning streak for Thomas Rhett's tender love ballad "Die a Happy Man" continues: After big wins at the 2016 ACM Awards, Rhett took home the 2016 American Country Countdown Awards trophy for Song of the Year for the track, written about his wife. The subdued performance, featuring just Rhett & his guitar, was engaging, as the entire audience joined him in a sing a long on the deeply romantic track. With lyrics like "If I never get to see the Northern Lights / Or if I never get to see the Eiffel Tower at night / Oh, if all I got is your hand in my hand / Baby, I could die a happy man," it's no wonder that the tune has become such a hit.

Filmed in a recording studio & featuring Blake's feathered pals Red, Chuck, Stella, Bomb & the Mighty Eagle, Blake sings an upbeat, positive tune about friendships that last through thick & thin. The song's kind hearted message is perfect for an animated movie based on a video game for kids, & pairs Blake's carefree vocals with a foot stomping beat & rolling banjo. Just a great track now playing on Stereo 974.

Tim McGraw only released the newest single from his 2015 Damn Country Music album in late January, but already, "Humble and Kind" is in the Top 20 and climbing. "I think, in the times that we live in, it's an important song, by itself, just by what it says," McGraw explained "Being a dad, and having daughters, one just went off to college, and another one that goes off to college next year; she graduates in May. My youngest daughter's starting high school. So you start looking at the world in a different way than you've been looking at it without having kids." The track, which features lines such as "Hold the door, say please, say thank you / Don't steal, don't cheat, and don't lie / I know you got mountains to climb, but / Always stay humble and kind"

Mary Chapin Carpenter is set to release a new album, The Things That We Are Made Of. Carpenter's new disc features 11 tracks, including its lead single, "Something Tamed Something Wild."

Chris Stapleton and Little Big Town have won two Grammys apiece at the 2016 Grammy Awards. Stapleton took home Best Country Solo Performance for the single 'Traveller' and Best Country Album for the album of the same name, while Little Big Town's massive hit song 'Girl Crush' won them Best Country Duo/Group Performance and Best Country Song.

Trace Adkins' trademark baritone has powered countless hits to the top of the charts and sold over 10 million albums, his hit list includes "You're Gonna Miss This," "Ladies Love Country Boys," "Songs About Me," "Every Light In The House," "Hillbilly Bone (Blake Shelton & Trace Adkins)," and "Just Fishin'," to name a few.

The Grammy nominated member of the Grand Ole Opry is a TV personality, actor, author, spokesman for the Wounded Warrior Program and the American Red Cross, for whom he raised over $1.5 million dollars. His latest is "Jesus and Jones" listen out for it on your station. "People are ready for real country music again," says Randy Houser, and there are few people in a better position to give it to them. Blessed with one of his generation's great voices, he is also a world-class songwriter, penning hits for artists including Trace Adkins and Justin Moore, and a seasoned entertainer known for the passion and energy he brings to every performance. In top ten is his latest - "We went" to follow out his string of number one songs.

Granger Smith has been building a career that is truly groundbreaking. With sold out national tours, a social media following of more than three million, and YouTube views nearing 30 million, he has amassed an audience that is unheard of for a purely independent, unsigned act. He has continually searched for new and innovative ways to connect with his fans and one by one, room by room built a national following, culminating when his last album, Dirt Road Driveway. Congratulations are in order with the Number one song "Backroad Song"

When Mo Pitney sings "let me tell you about country" in his debut single, he's doing more than telling. He's showing.  To paraphrase the song, a life in music isn't a place on a map, it's a place in Mo Pitney's heart. One of the most requested songs on Stereo 974 . We have yet to hear of the release of his album due soon. Music was a family affair, and Pitney picked up the drums at six and guitar at 12, he learned how to play with a cast on his arm by laying a rag over his dad's guitar so it wouldn't get scratched." Johnny Cash at San Quentin was his introduction to playing music. He learned the whole album.

BOBíS BLOG 8TH FEBRUARY 2016 Posted: Mon 8th Feb 2016 - 13:02

It's been five years since Florida native Easton Corbin climbed the singles chart for the first time with "A Little More Country Than That." Now, the recording artist is on album number three. "Kiss Me One More Time," which kicks off the album that will keep you humming along. That trend continues on "Guys and Girls," which will very likely become another number one single. The arrangement is very much in line with the sound of Country these days & Corbin gives it his all.

The Swon Brothers are making a name for themselves check out their new six song EP, Timeless. Zach & Colton Swon wrote all six songs on the EP, which is a follow up to their self-titled, debut album that included their smash hit "Later On."

Brandy Clark's "Girl Next Door," is her newest single, off her upcoming album Big Day in a Small Town, is a strong follow up to her Grammy nominated debut album 12 Stories. "If you want the girl next door, then go next door," will strike a chord, listen out for it right now on Stereo 974.

The Brothers Osborne hail from a small town in Maryland & they don't try to be anyone they're not. Their debut album Pawn Shop, is one of the most anticipated albums of 2016. It isn't hard to see why anticipation for the album was so high once you hear the first song "Dirt Rich," a fun song with a good beat. The group is just coming off the charts with "Stay a little Longer".

Trace Adkins is officially back on the country music scene with his new single "Jesus and Jones." The single is an up tempo track about temptation & good intentions, & finding the middle ground between the two scenarios.  The first thing Trace ever did behind a microphone was singing bass in a gospel quartet. At the same time, playing guitar & singing in honkytonks, so, that's when the struggle began the wrestling match between 'Jesus' & 'Jones' and he still struggles with that.

Already a great month for new music after listening to the new Vince Gill album, Down to My Last Bad Habit  & the new single, "Take Me Down," is his best song in a while.

Rising star Cole Swindell is set to follow up his Gold certified debut album on May 6th with You Should Be Here. The forthcoming album draws its name from its emotional lead single, which has quickly vaulted to the Top 15 on the Billboard Country singles chart only three weeks after its official impact date & has become his fastest rising single yet. "You Should Be Here," follows a string of No. 1 hits (including the recent smash, Gold certified "Let Me See Ya Girl" & Platinum certified "Hope You Get Lonely Tonight," "Ain't Worth The Whiskey" & "Chillin' It"), the success of which established him as the first ever solo male artist in history to top the charts with his first four singles .

Old Dominion scored the first two ACM Award nominations of their career this week, with the band nabbing nods for Vocal Group of the Year, as well as New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year. It's been quite a year for the group, and at a recent celebration for their two week number one debut single, "Break up with Him,"

Newcomer Maren Morris is off to an incredible start with her debut single, a song called "My Church," & Maren says it's been an amazing feeling to see how fans are already connecting with the song in such a big way. Beginning in June, Maren will hit the road as a special guest on Keith Urban's new tour.

Josh Brolin has been tapped to play the late George Jones in a new biopic, tentatively called No Show Jones. Actress Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty) will play George's ex-wife Tammy Wynette. Johnny Cash has been discovered, in spider form! Scientists have named a new kind of black tarantula after the famous country legend. The spider, is completely black, so it's fitting, then that it shares its name with the Man in Black.

Dan Smyers & Shay Mooney of country duo Dan + Shay are only in their 20s, but "From the Ground Up," their debut single from their forthcoming album, shows romantic wisdom beyond their years. "From the Ground Up" is a song that started with a conversation about their grandparents & the love that they shared for the 65 plus years that they were married," It tells the story of the life that they built through their power & dedication to each other & the perseverance to endure whatever would come their way.

Chuck Wicks' debut album, Starting Now, came out in 2008 and he hasn't released another full-length since "Stealing Cinderella" propelled him into the spotlight. So the singer/songwriter/radio personality is understandably excited to announce his next album Turning Point, which will be available February.

Visitors will get a glimpse of Keith's 1989 Fender 40th Anniversary Telecaster along with others from his collection. It's been while since we had a release by Justin Moore and that's about to change with his new song out soon "You look like I need a Drink".

Kyle Park and his band decided to try their hand at something different for his fifth studio album since breaking out a decade ago. Working with his core band the songs featured on The Blue Roof Sessions were mainly conceived of and created by Kyle Park and his band the very way they'd be played live the records live, recorded in the house with his five-piece band as he often doesn't have fiddle and steel guitars on his records. The Blue Roof Sessions. is fun, it's experimental and most of all, the record is exactly the kind of project Kyle Park needed to make and is a great example of what you can expect if you were to see Kyle Park and his band in concert. Hear tracks on Stereo 974.

Hank Williams, Jr.'s next song will be It's About Time, his 37th studio album, with the lead single "Are You Ready For The Country" set to world premiere on the CMA Awards telecast. The song also features Eric Church.
